Teamwork/Collaboration Competency

This is a picture from a presentation I assisted on and presented for a graduate student I worked with in my research lab. We presented this at a PRSN conference in April of 2020. The PRSN conference is the psychology fraternity’s research presentation event that they put on each year. I had a section of the research that I discussed in front of an audience of attendees. This experience as a whole helped me to gain insights such as working as a team on an important project. It was imperative that we all worked together cohesively and communicated with each other during the process of making this presentation. This project was time-sensitive and developing the presentation to showcase the results of the studies helped me to learn time management skills. This was also one of my first times presenting in front of an audience, especially a scientific audience that included my professors and potential employers. It gave me the confidence to be able to do something like this in the future and be more comfortable. I am proud of myself for stepping up and taking the initiative to speak in front of an audience. I am glad to have gained this team working expereince in a way that I never have before. It was a helpful learning experience for me. I am excited to participate in projects that include teamwork and that challenge me in the future.
