Career and Self Development Competency
I was able to meet with the founder of a non-profit radio station, 97.1 WXOX, in Louisville, KY. In this meeting, I was able to discuss with the founder all of the opportunities that the radio community holds. I was able to network with other employees of this radio station and got myself a job. I also learned a lot about what being a part of the radio world as a career means, and I gained a useful understanding of the differences between types of radio stations to guide me in the right direction for what I am interested in. It was very inspiring to hear from the founder about her experience and journey to becoming the founder of a non-profit radio station. I am so grateful to have had this meeting and experience. It gave me a lot of helpful insight as well as hope and faith in myself to further develop my career in the radio community.
